I was experiencing crashes to desktop when firing my minigun at the raiders from the roof top during the quest "When Freedom Calls" in Fallout 4. I finally was able to fix this issue:
So,
I uninstalled and then reinstalled the game and now it runs fine without crashing
while using the minigun to shoot at or kill whatever. Also, the save or
continue I had was still there as well even after deleting (uninstalling) and
reinstalling again.
Hope this solution helps somebody else out since it made me stop playing the game for a while before coming back to it again to fix this issue.
